How Our Gift Economy Works

Global Prayer Room helps Christian ministries build trusted online prayer communities and gives supporters a meaningful way to encourage the ministries they value.

Through the platform, ministries can share prayer requests, testimonies, devotional content and ministry updates. Supporters can pray with these communities and provide financial encouragement through symbolic digital Gifts of Encouragement.

What Is Global Prayer Room?

Global Prayer Room is an online platform created to help Christian ministries build and manage prayer communities.

Participating ministries can use the platform to:

  • Create an online ministry community.
  • Publish prayer requests.
  • Receive prayers from supporters.
  • Share testimonies and devotional content.
  • Communicate ministry updates.
  • Publish symbolic Gifts of Encouragement.
  • Receive financial support through secure online payments.

Supporters can discover ministries, pray for people in need, follow ministry activities and encourage participating ministries financially.

What Are Gifts of Encouragement?

Gifts of Encouragement are symbolic digital gifts that supporters can purchase to financially encourage a ministry.

They are not physical products and are not delivered to the supporter.

Each Gift represents a form of encouragement or support connected to Christian ministry and charitable activity.

Examples may include:

  • Holy Bible
  • Thanksgiving Gift
  • Bag of Rice
  • School Support
  • Evangelism Support
  • Feeding Support
  • Prayer Ministry Support

The title and image associated with a Gift are symbolic. The participating ministry receives the applicable financial proceeds and may use the funds to support its ministry, charitable or operational needs.

Why Are the Gifts Symbolic?

Christian encouragement can be expressed through prayer, service, generosity and practical support.

The symbolic Gift system gives supporters a simple and meaningful way to show that they care about a ministry and its mission.

A supporter may select a Thanksgiving Gift to express gratitude, a Holy Bible Gift to encourage evangelisation, or a Bag of Rice Gift to support charitable outreach. These Gifts represent the supporter’s intention and encouragement rather than the purchase and delivery of a physical item.

How Payments Work

When a supporter purchases a Gift of Encouragement:

  1. The supporter selects a participating ministry.
  2. The supporter chooses one or more symbolic Gifts.
  3. The platform calculates the total amount securely.
  4. The payment is processed through Paystack.
  5. The participating ministry receives its applicable settlement.
  6. Global Prayer Room receives its applicable platform service settlement.
  7. Paystack applies its payment-processing charges according to the configured payment arrangement.
  8. The supporter receives confirmation after the payment has been verified.

Global Prayer Room does not ask supporters to send their card information directly to a ministry. Payment information is handled through the approved payment-provider checkout.

For Ministries

  1. Create a Ministry

    A ministry leader creates a ministry community and provides the required ministry information.

  2. Complete Verification

    The ministry and its ownership details are reviewed to help protect supporters and maintain trust across the platform.

  3. Complete Receiving Account Onboarding

    The ministry submits its receiving-account information and completes the required agreements. The receiving account must be reviewed, verified and activated before the ministry can receive Gifts through the platform.

  4. Publish Gifts of Encouragement

    Eligible ministries can make approved symbolic Gifts available to their supporters.

  5. Receive Supporter Gifts

    When a supporter completes a verified payment, the ministry receives its applicable share through the configured payment and settlement process.

For Supporters

  1. Discover Ministries

    Supporters can browse participating ministries and learn about their prayer communities and activities.

  2. Choose Gifts

    A supporter can select one or more symbolic Gifts of Encouragement and choose the desired quantity.

  3. Review the Selection

    The supporter reviews the selected Gifts and total payment amount before continuing.

  4. Complete Secure Checkout

    Payment is completed securely through Paystack.

  5. Receive Confirmation

    A Gift is recorded only after the payment has been successfully verified.

  6. Public Gift Wall

    A public Gift Wall is planned for a future platform update. Where enabled, it may display selected Gifts and supporter recognition according to the supporter’s privacy choice.

Ministry Verification

Global Prayer Room requires participating ministries to complete an onboarding and review process before receiving payments through the Gift system.

The process may include:

  • Verification of ministry ownership.
  • Review of ministry information.
  • Acceptance of platform agreements.
  • Submission of receiving-account information.
  • Verification of the payment-provider receiving account.
  • Platform approval and activation.

Verification helps reduce misuse of the platform, but supporters should still use reasonable judgment when deciding which ministries to support.

Global Prayer Room may suspend a ministry, disable its Gift functionality or request additional information where there are concerns about identity, account ownership, prohibited activity, fraud, misrepresentation or violation of platform policies.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Gifts of Encouragement physical products?

No. Gifts of Encouragement are symbolic digital gifts. Selecting a Gift does not result in the delivery of a physical Bible, bag of rice, school item or other product to the supporter. The selected Gift represents financial encouragement for the participating ministry.

Will the ministry use the money only for the item shown?

The Gift title expresses the supporter’s intention and the type of encouragement being offered. Unless a specific campaign expressly states otherwise, the participating ministry may use the funds for its ministry, charitable or operational needs.

How do ministries receive funds?

Payments are processed through Paystack. Eligible participating ministries must complete receiving-account onboarding, verification, approval and activation before they can receive settlements through the platform.

Is payment secure?

Payments are processed through Paystack’s secure checkout. Global Prayer Room does not display or store a supporter’s full payment-card details.

How are ministries verified?

Ministries must complete the Global Prayer Room onboarding process. This includes ownership verification, organisation information, receiving-account submission, agreement acceptance and platform review. Additional information may be requested before approval.

Can I request a refund?

Yes. Refund requests are handled according to the Global Prayer Room Refund Policy. A refund is not automatic merely because a Gift is symbolic. Eligibility depends on circumstances such as duplicate payments, incorrect amounts, technical errors, unauthorised transactions or other valid payment concerns.

What happens if a ministry is suspected of fraud?

Global Prayer Room may investigate the ministry, request more information, suspend its account, disable Gift payments, revoke its receiving account or take other protective action. Where appropriate, Global Prayer Room may also cooperate with Paystack, financial institutions, regulators or law-enforcement authorities.

Can I support a ministry anonymously?

Privacy and public-recognition options may be introduced or expanded as the Gift platform develops. Payment records will still be retained privately where required for security, accounting and legal purposes.
